What should a Blogspot be?

I have tried to blogspot for over two years now and never really did much with it. Yeah, I have a blogspot, but nobody has even viewed my posts yet. Sad. But, thanks to my husband and his brother, I have finally broken through the blog and found my blogspot groove. I discovered that I was over thinking what the blogspot should be. Finally, it was revealed to me that a blogspot does not have to be some mini book or final draft of a paper; instead, it should just be an informal conversation about whatever you want to talk about as though you were chatting with your friend.

Helpful Hints:

So what made the difference for me? Together they came up with a list of starter phrases for me to write a blogspot about, which greatly helped me narrow down that wide array of things to chat about. Then they had me find a Youtube video to go with my blogspot, giving me even more focus and starters for that particular subject. If you are just starting out with blogspot, like I did, and can't seem to find a jumping off point, try thinking about the last conversation you had with a friend/family member and just write down what went on in your conversation or what you wish you had said. Another idea for your blogspot post would be to think of something in the news that infuriates you and start ranting in your blogspot. You will find it harder to stop posting with a rant. There seems to be no lack of words for ranting about something that annoys us.

Just remember when you are typing in blogspot, especially when you are ranting, that there are all types of people reading your blogspot so you need to keep it clean and expletive free, so as to not be offensive to others or possibly get yourself a bad rating. If you want to be taken seriously you may want to reread your blogspot looking for such things as clarity, simplicity, variety, and basic understandability in your post.
